New Or Rebuild Construction Projects

Recorded as Haiti’s most devastating natural disaster in recent history, an earthquake on January 12, 2010, killed an estimated 230,000 people, injured 300,000 more, and displaced more than 1.5 million as a result of collapsed buildings and infrastructure. Damages and losses stemming from the 7.0 magnitude earthquake were estimated at US$7.8 billion, representing 120 percent of Haiti’s gross domestic product, and reconstruction needs reached US$11.3 billion.

The unprecedented damage throughout the country weakened the government’s ability to respond to the crisis. In addition to the loss of one-third of its civil servants, Haiti suffered partial or total collapse of key administrative buildings, including the National Palace, the National Penitentiary, the Parliament, and all but one of its ministries. Much of the service delivery infrastructure in and around Port-au-Prince was destroyed, including critical stretches of the primary road network linking the capital to heavily damaged southern cities.

No Project Too Big Or Too Small

We bring resources into areas with minimal recourses.

CHANCE Deep Foundation Systems & Piling Foundations

Deep Foundations

Deep foundation systems are a great solution when shallow foundation solutions will not carry the load. Deep foundation solutions transmit the structural loads to soil/rock that is deeper in the ground. CHANCE products are ideal due to the speed of installation, their resistance to buckling in weak soils, added corrosion protection and more.

Uniform Pitch

Helical piles for deep foundations are composed of pre-manufactured steel and feature a central steel shaft with one or more helical shaped bearing plates. A helical pile is installed by rotating or screwing it into the ground. Each helical bearing plate is formed into a screw thread with a uniform defined pitch.

Increased Capacity

Helical Pulldown micropile is a system for constructing a grout column around the shaft of a standard helical pile foundation system. The micropile does not require removing spoils from the site. Combining both end-bearing on the helical plates and skin friction along the rough surface of the grout column increases the buckling and compression capacity for the pile system.

CHANCE Earth Retention Systems & Retaining Wall Tieback Anchors

Earth Retention Systems

Earth retention is simply a method to shore or stabilize soil/rock that has been removed to form an excavation, cut or slope. Temporary or permanent structural retaining walls use soldier piles with wood lagging, sheet piles or structural diaphragm walls to resist lateral earth pressures from retained soil. CHANCE® helical tieback anchors are pre-manufactured steel anchor elements consisting of a central steel shaft and one or more helical shaped bearing plates.

Helical Tiebacks

Helical tieback anchors provide additional lateral support for many retaining wall designs. A helical tieback anchor is installed by rotating or screwing it into the ground. Each helical bearing plate is formed into a screw thread with a uniform defined pitch. The tieback anchors are installed into the ground until the helical plates are located in load bearing soil. The tieback anchor is then attached to the wall face.

Soil Screw® Anchors

Soil nail walls are another type of earth retention system. They provide temporary or permanent stabilization of cuts and slopes. CHANCE Soil Screw anchors are pre-manufactured steel anchor elements consisting of a central steel shaft and several helical shaped bearing plates spaced continuously along the shaft. CHANCE Soil Screw anchors are installed by rotating or screwing into the ground until the required nail length is achieved. Each helical bearing plate is formed into a screw thread with a uniform defined pitch. The soil screw application is then attached to the wall face.

CHANCE Solutions

Qualified Local Caribbean Installers

Since 1912, Chance has been the international leader in earth anchoring. Our helical piles are used worldwide to secure residential and commercial buildings, tower foundations, heavy equipment foundations and many other deep foundation applications. CHANCE® helical piles are approved by all national building code agencies.

Foundation Support

CHANCE® Civil Construction deep foundation systems provide the high capacity piers/ piles to stop settling and cracking of commercial and industrial structures. Selected by load requirements and soil conditions, our system offers capacities ranging to 120,000 pounds for each pier/pile. For homeowners, special patented brackets are used to stabilize or lift foundations in distress Our dealer/ representatives are thoroughly trained and certified in installation procedures and are supported by our extensive technical-support services.

Resistance Pier & Helical Tieback Combo

For lateral support needed in conjunction with ATLAS Resistance Pier

Where site conditions and load requirements warrant, the tieback combo combines CHANCE helical tieback anchors with ATLAS Resistance piers. The helical anchors contribute lateral support to the piers providing vertical support. This unique combination forms a fast, effective solution for challenges beyond the capabilities of other systems.
